Division Web Design Bristol.

Frankie Webb specializes in paintings, drawings and ceramics and sells a wide range of items. Frankie wanted to expand the promotion of her art online to help increase sales. This web site was created in the style of an art gallery itself, with white pages and minimal graphics, so that Frankie Webb's art work remained the prime focus of the web site.
An easy to use CMS (content management system) was developed for this site. This allows Frankie to log in to a secure admin page to edit all the details on her website herself.
A mobile version of this web site was also developed to be displayed on mobile phone browsers with the entire site looking great on the small screen, remaining fully functional, and all in under 1Mb in data transfer size.
Animal Lib for All (ALFA) had previously recruited another Bristol web design company to give them an online presence. However atfer poor results and no forward planning from the Bristol web design company, they approached Division Web Design for a complete website overhaul. ALFA requested a clear minimal approach, and that the vast areas of text that display on their website be kept black on white for readability and impact. The logo and overall theme was designed for them by Division Web Design.
ALFA had already registered their domain names themselves and wanted to keep the same registrar but had no web space to support the scripting they needed for their new site. Division Web Design simply pointed their domains to their servers, gave them a free email account and a very low cost hosting package that catered for their needs. A custom built CMS (content management system) was developed for this website allowing ALFA to edit or add any of their text or links themselves. The site was developed to xhtml strict standards and the custom built CMS outputs and organises navigation, heading, and text combinations, on each page, aiding SEO on ALFA's behalf.
A social networking icon bar was added to each page so the websites users can quickly link the information on ALFA to their favourite networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Digg, and StumbleUpon to name a few. Plans are being negotiated to add a Twitter page to display the latest news and happenings of ALFA on both Twitter and the ALFA website simultaneously.
Bristol based Clifton Imperial Decorators required an online presence to strengthen its brand and attract more customers. The websites Royal Blue colors were in keeping the companys current color scheme and image. The site was also registered with several online directories that frequent the top of search engine listings for tradesmen.
Not being overly web savvy, Clifton Imperial Decorators asked Divison Web Design to register and manage all their domain names for them so they could stick to decorating. Low cost hosting and a free forwarding email was also provided to suit their needs as they found larger hosting companies seemed to charge for unnecessary excesses they will never use.
Division Web Design always builds web sites with search engine optimisation in mind by making them highly accessible, clearly navigatable by both humans and robots, built to W3C standards, and a logical use of navigation, headings, and keywords in the website text. The Clifton Imperial Decorators website achieves consistent page one rankings on Google for the keywords 'Bristol painters and decorators' and 'Bristol decorators'. Type thes keywords into Google and see for yourself!
Sparrows Bed & Breakfast is a small Bed & Breakfast located in the scenic and picturesque area of St Just in Cornwall. The web site ramains clear, accessible, and stylish, using photos from the local region to make the site stand out. It gives the B & B owners full control over their websites content.
A custom built CMS (content management system) was developed for this site allowing the B and B owners to change any of the text on the web site, and also any of the images, from the headers to the slideshows themselves. It also allows them to add more text and headings as and when they like and allows them to add as many links to other sites as they choose to help build their search engine potential.
"After getting married myself in 2009, I found myself wanting a way to breakdown the whole fantastic memory of the day so that my wife and I, and everybody else who was there, could look back in the future and remember the wedding day exactly as it was. I didn't want to forget how much fun it was. I also wanted the people who weren't there, to be able to view these memories and feel like they had been there themselves too. Whilst a good wedding photographer is unbeatable for a selection of stylized print shots of the Bride and Groom, if I'm honest, that's not how I remembered the actual day itself. I wanted something to remind me how the whole day actually felt. I wanted to be able to display hundreds of photos in an easy to use, simple, organized manner, that captured the true spirit of the day, and was created by the people that actually made the day so great...The wedding guests. I wanted it to include all the videos of the ceremony and the wedding speeches too. All in one compact, accessible, easy to use package that could be viewed by anyone, anytime, anyplace. Unable to find a service that offered this specific tailored package I created my own. I was so happy with the result, I now offer this service to anyone, like me, who wishes to keep the memory of their wedding day as it actually was forever. Our service and product can be used to either compliment your official wedding photography services, or if you cant afford a wedding photographer, possibly even provide an excellent cost effective alternative for capturing those uniquely special memories. Please view my wedding day memories as an example of what we offer and contact us if you are after something similar."
The Hannah Saunderson Photography web site was built using Flash to give smooth attractive transition and animation effects. The photography was carefully selected to stand out from a white background and give a feeling of depth, making it feel different from the standard flat page designs that dominate the internet. The flash animation was used to add an added touch of visual finesse to its viewers without the need for lots of needless graphics.
While Flash sites are great for animation effects, they cannot easily be read by search engines. To counter this, a high accessibility xhtml version was also created for the web site, both to maximise search engine rankings, and also to cater for the visually imparied, or those who do not have Flash or Javascript installed on their computer. These are important additions to any Flash web site.
The text sections of the website are editable via an online content management system (CMS) as is the photography in the porfolio section. More sections are still to be added once the client has decided on which direction she wishes to market the web site.
Circle of Funk have been involved within the US funky house scene since the early 90's. They started out as Hip Hop DJ's playing in clubs and radio and featured on Tim Westwoods radio 1 rap show as part of a successful crew called the Cutz. They established a regular radio show on local pirate station passion FM and legal trial station's Powerjam and Dance FM.
Circle of Funk already have a MySpace site but wanted a website unique to them. Circle of Funk approached Division Web Design for a fresh re launch of their outdated website. The site was completely redesigned, and existing logo re worked, to give a cool web 2 feel. A content management system was created for them so that they could update all aspects of the site themselves, and allowing bulk sending of news and events to subscribers at the click of a button. A fan blog was also added. The band are considering having an online shop added in the future.
Horizon Heating first attempted to build a web site using a free template themselves from 123-Reg that came with their registered domain name. It became evident early on they would need to enlist a professional for a successful website. The free web template they were using was just not specific to their business, nor did it look relevant for the service they were offering. In many ways a bad website is worse than no website at all. A web site is a form of marketing, so if it dosnt look relevant to what you have to offer, it implies that you don't know your own business aims or that you are trying to cut corners. On top of that, templates can not be search engine optimised and many are not W3C compliant either.
Horizon Heating contacted Divison Web Design for consultation. As a new start up business, Horizon Heating required an online presence and a brand identity that portrayed the service they were offereing. As a result The Horizon Heating theme was created using warm colors with a touch of contrasting light blue to indicate gas and water. The site was kept simple, direct and informative whilst still appealing to the eye.
Logos were formatted for web, print, and in vector format, so they could be used for other purposes than the web, such as business cards, boiler suits, and the side of the company's van. Horizon heating also took advantage of Division Web Designs excellent value hosting package whilst keeping control of their previously registered domain name.
GayBrook Gardens required a small tidy website that was attractive to the eye to compliment their other promotional material. Close up photography of flowers was used in a Flash animation to add a dash of color.
Division Web Design's wedding photography package uses a bespoke content management system that can get 300 photos online, watermarked, displayed in auto generated online galleries, and in a custom shop, all in less than 20 minutes from start to finish. The photographers clients are able to log in and make their wedding photo selections online, in their own time. Once their selection is made, the wedding photographer can activate their shop and online gallery for friends and family in the click of a button, enabling them more time to get on with producing the wedding package itself. Pay Pal has been integrated to the website for the selling of prints along with the option for personal cheque payment.
A content management system allows for easy editing of all aspects of the website at any time. So you can easily alter prices and website content, keep track of clients, and even edit the design of the website itself if desired.
The Baron.Corp web site was created using a Flash interface to present a short, bleak, tale of humanity written by Joe Baron in his spare time. It demonstrates how Flash allows smooth animation and fluent user interaction, and that websites can be an interesting modern medium for all manner of purposes and ideas.
This series of fun Flash mini games was made by Joe Baron. They exemplify some potential uses of Flash for online games but were made as personal tributes, are unofficial, and are not for profit. Have Fun!
They can also be played at widgetbox.com - Just type in Star Wars or James Bond into the search bar and you'll see the games near the top of the listings.
